In the age of satellite clusters and high definition, images increasingly constitute a source of financial revenue. Nevertheless, to be exploitable, these images need to be preserved with care, according to precise specifications.

Storage is an essential part of a film’s existence.

Eclair manages film and video catalogues at two storage sites with total capacity of over one million reels. Preservation of film and digital supports is ensured under optimum conditions (temperature, hygrometry and security).


A powerful data base guarantees tracking of their various movements. Identification and individual numbering are performed by bar code.

A cinematographic work is characterised by the fact that it continues to live after its release and screening. The Eclair storage centre every day receives a large number of films returned to the laboratory for restoring, printing new copies or transferring to DVD or video supports, etc.

The Eclair platform at Augy is totally dedicated to storing its clients’ films. All resources are used to guarantee maximum life span for works. Film logistics and follow through are manually and data processed.
