Digital restoration

Digital restoration is used for bringing old films to life again, and also for dealing with incidents which occur during filming (flare parasite, optical problems, camera scratch, HMI flutter, instability, etc.).

Digital restoration was the historical starting point of Eclair’s work with digital technology.

The Laboratoire has unrivaled expertise in this field.

It today restores feature films using a combination of traditional, photochemical and digital techniques. Eclair has chosen to restore films using a high resolution production line, to benefit from a high quality digital master that can be used for different supports. The laboratory has installed a system with SGI stations using Kodak and Discreet software that allows it to work rapidly on a large number of projects.
