Special effects

Special effects are now an integral part of making a feature film.

Many types of special effects exist, both visible and invisible. An entire range of digital effects exist which the teams in the Eclair Digital department know how to operate. Matting against a blue/green background, multilayer compositing, cable erasing, 2D/3D mat painting, tracking, deforming and morphing are possible in all resolutions, in an environment calibrated for 35 mm film.

The special effects teams, with their many talents, play a central role in a production, throughout the project. They are able to intervene right from the writing of the scenario working with the other technical teams, the head decorator, the photography director and, of course, the film director.

Special effects are, in many cases, a form of filming assistance which enable Eclair to work on an entire project. Eclair supplies preproduction analysis, supervises special effects during filming and provides artistic direction during postproduction.

The digital department has some of the most modern equipment in Europe and can therefore work on a complete 4K production line.
